Five ways to train with me

Studio hours, a small group, a written week you run elsewhere, a one-off assessment, or a lunchtime session for a small team. The planning system is the same. The room and the price change.

Training session

One system, five formats

I do not keep a separate method for groups and another for the internet. Every format starts with a conversation and a movement screen, then a block written for the days you can protect. I rewrite the work every four weeks. I track working weights, a simple RPE, and the two screens I repeat at the end of the block. What changes is whether I am standing next to the bar, whether three other people share the hour, or whether you film a set and send it back.

Prices below are indicative and in Singapore dollars. I confirm the figure when we agree the diary. Packages of ten one-to-one sessions last four months from the date of purchase.

Programmes and indicative prices

One-to-one coaching, studio

Sixty minutes with me in the room. I set the warm-up, I watch the working sets, and I write the next session before you leave. The plan is built around your week: three days is typical, two if the diary is tight. I stay for the whole hour. If your back is sore that morning we change the lift in the room — a box squat, a supported hinge, a lighter press — and we still train. Most people I coach this way stay for a twelve-week block and then decide the next one from the retest, not from a feeling on a tired Friday.

From S$120 per session · packs of 10

What’s included

  • A written block for your week, rewritten every four weeks
  • Sixty minutes of coaching in the studio
  • Session notes and two check-ins a week
  • A retest at the end of the block

Small-group strength, max 4

Four is the cap because that is the largest group in which I can still see every rep. You share the pattern of the hour — squat or hinge, press, pull, then a carry or a short row — and you do not share the loads. I write each person’s numbers before you arrive. The room stays quiet enough to say that your knee is loud today. I will swap your squat for a goblet or a step-up without stopping the other three. Groups are a good fit if you like a little company and still want your own progression.

S$55 per person per session

What’s included

  • Groups capped at four
  • Individual loads inside a shared session shape
  • Sixty minutes on the floor
  • Notes after the session

Online coaching

I write your week around the kit you already have. You train in a public gym, a condo room, or a spare corner, and you send short videos of the main lifts. Twice a week I read the notes and mark the next session. Every two weeks we speak. I cannot spot you through a phone. I can stop you repeating a sloppy hinge for another fortnight. This format suits people who will film a set when I ask and who already have a place to train. If you want me in the room, book the studio.

S$320 per month

What’s included

  • A written week, rewritten every four weeks
  • Two check-ins a week on notes and video
  • A call every two weeks
  • The same retest I use in the studio

Return-to-training assessment

A single 75-minute session if you are not sure you want a block yet, or if you are coming back after a long gap and want the first month written down. We talk, we screen — squat, hinge, press, pull, an easy row or walk — and I write a plan you can take away. You leave with the first four weeks on paper: days, lifts, and the loads I would start with. If you then book coaching, those notes become week one of the block. If you do not, you still have a plan you can run.

S$180

What’s included

  • Seventy-five minutes in the studio
  • A movement screen and a conversation about your week
  • A written outline for the first four weeks

Lunchtime strength for small teams

Up to six people, forty-five to sixty minutes, either in the studio or at a workplace with enough floor to hinge and press. I write a simple shared pattern and scale the loads. This is for teams that want a regular strength hour rather than a one-off event. I need a little notice to see the space and to ask about injuries in the group. I do not run this as a class with music and a countdown. It is a short strength session I can still coach.

On request

What a session looks like

A standard studio hour is sixty minutes. I keep the shape so you know where the time goes, and I move pieces when a joint or the clock demands it.

Ten minutes to prepare

Easy row, bike, or a walk with a light carry, then the first pattern of the day with an empty bar or a light kettlebell. I am watching how you move today, not how you moved last Thursday. If something is loud, we change the main lift before it starts.

Thirty minutes of main work

The heavy piece: a squat or a hinge, a press, a pull. Sets you can repeat, loads you could do for two more reps on most days. I count, I watch the last rep, and I write the number for next time. This is the part I will not trade away for a flashy finisher.

Fifteen minutes of accumulation

Carries, a short row, skip rope, or accessory work for the upper back and the hips. Enough to leave you trained. In heavy humidity I shorten this first.

Five minutes of notes

Working weights, RPE, and anything you said about sleep or a joint. You can ask about the next session while I write. The notes are how the following week stays honest.

Booking, rescheduling, payment

Write to [email protected] or call +65 6252 7319. I read both myself. Tell me how you train now, which format you want, and a few times that work. I will come back within one working day; Sunday notes are answered on Monday morning.

Give me twelve hours if you need to move a session. Inside that window, or if you do not arrive, the session is used. If I have to cancel, I move you at no cost. I take payment by PayNow or bank transfer before a block or a pack starts. Packs of ten one-to-one sessions remain valid for four months from the date of purchase.

I do not keep a public booking grid. The diary is small enough that a message is faster than a login you would use twice a year.

Before your first session

Wear trainers you can squat in and clothes you can hinge in. Bring a bottle. If you have notes from a doctor or physiotherapist, bring those too. I will send a short health questionnaire before you arrive; fill it in so I am not asking the same questions on the clock.

Come five to ten minutes early. The entrance is on the street side of 81 Tiong Poh Road; use the bell. If you are late we still finish on time, and the warm-up is the part that shrinks. Eat something in the two hours before we start. An empty stomach and a first squat session is a poor pairing.

If anything in the questionnaire suggests you should see a clinician first, I will say so and we will pause. That is part of how I keep the room useful.

Ready to pick a format?

Send the week you actually have and I will tell you which of the five fits. If I am the wrong coach for the work you want, I will say that too.
